Lincoln, NH: Loon Mountain, featuring New Hampshire's longest scenic gondola skyride will open for summer operations on June 26. Adventures include horseback riding, glacial caves, and the Loon Mountain Adventure Center with bungee trampoline, mountain bike rentals and tours, climbing wall and more.
An exciting new addition for this summer, vacationers will have another exhilarating activity to enjoy - a new zip line, opening in early July. Starting at Loon's Adventure Center, located at the base of the mountain, guests will be able to soar from the Adventure Center over the Pemigewasset River, and back again.
Also new for this summer, the Loon Adventure Center will have extended hours until 7:00 p.m. from opening day through September 5.
The adrenaline rush continues on Loon's four-person bungee trampoline, where up to four people at once can bounce, flip, flop and jump up to 25 feet in the air.
For those who would rather 'mosey' than fly, the Loon Equestrian Center offers one-hour to three-hour trail rides that meander through ski trails and old logging trails. Guides will engage in stories that illustrate the area's history and local lore. Pony rides are also available for kids younger than eight years.
Trail ride reservations are suggested and can be made by calling 603-745-8111 x 5454 or 800-229-LOON. Find more information and rates on Loon's website at loonmtn.com.
These are not the only reasons vacationers choose Loon Mountain for summer fun and adventure. The resort also offers:
» New Hampshire's longest scenic gondola skyride
» Glacial caves, where kids hunt for lost Loon Gold
» Mountaintop playground
» Self-guided nature tour
» Observation tower
» Miles of hiking trails
» Mountain bike rentals and tours
» Outdoor climbing wall
Complete details on all Loon's summer activities are available on Loon's website at loonmtn.com.
