Alphorn Bistro at Inn at Danbury wins
Best German Restaurant Award from New Hampshire Magazine

DANBURY, NH – Alphorn Bistro at Inn at Danbury has been named “Best German Restaurant” in New Hampshire by voters in New Hampshire Magazine’s 2009 “Best Of” survey. This is the fifth consecutive year the Inn has earned an award.  All winners, who were named by the 3000 + voters in this year’s contest, appear in the July issue.

Winning the “Best German Restaurant” award means Alphorn Bistro will be among those showing off their specialties at the Best of New Hampshire Party June 25th at the Verizon Wireless Center, Manchester.  Chef Robert Graf will be serving one of his specialties at the party.

“The Best of NH Party is a great opportunity for those who haven’t made it to our inn and restaurant yet, to give us a try,” Robert Graf said. “We’re pleased to participate in this benefit event and meet folks from around the State”

It all began in 2005, when the Inn received the “Best Wurst” award from then every year after the inn has received “Best German Restaurant” “We are much honored to receive the award once again” said Graf. Chef Graf is proud to share his Old World inspired and New England comfort food, served by wait- staff in traditional dirndls and lederhosen. “It is our unique atmosphere and personal service that keeps people coming again and again, not to mention the great selection of international beers and German beer on draft plus a fantastic German & Austrian Wine list. “

The Inn at Danbury is owned by Robert and Alexandra Graf, who are helped by their four children. Alexandra was born in The Hague, The Netherlands, and brings her knowledge of European hospitality and cuisine to the Inn. Robert hails from New Jersey and is proud to display his Swiss heritage. “We use a lot of my Swiss grandmother’s recipes in our restaurant” smiled Robert.

The Inn at Danbury celebrates Oktoberfest each fall.
