Greensboro, NC, May 29, 2009 …Shoppers heading to the Tanger Outlet Center in Tilton are accustomed to finding the latest brand name fashions and accessories.  This summer, Tanger is also giving its customers a chance to sample some fresh, locally grown produce.  The new “Exit 20 Farmers’ Market at Tanger Outlets” will take place each Wednesday from 3 pm – 6 pm, June 23rd – September 23rd in the Tanger parking lot between Old Navy and the Banana Republic Factory Store.

“All our local vendors are pleased with the way in which Tanger Outlets grabbed hold of the idea of setting up the weekly farmers' market,” said Elizabeth Merry, State House Representative for Belknap County District 2 and the Co-Owner of Trail Mix, one of the vendors scheduled to participate in the Farmers’ Market at Tanger.  “For us, the new Exit 20 Farmers' Market provides access to new customers whom we think will be excited by "buying local" and helping to preserve the agricultural community base of Tilton and Sanbornton.”

The “Exit 20 Farmers’ Market at Tanger Outlets” will feature approximately 18 vendor booths.  In addition to a variety of fruits and vegetables, customers will also find homemade jams, jellies and baked goods, eggs, meats, flowers and more.

“We are happy to support our local farmers and the rich agricultural history of our area,” remarked Tanger General Manager, Eric Proulx. “By purchasing our produce locally, we can help boost our area’s economy and provide, fresh, healthy food for our families,” he added.  

The Tanger Outlet Center in Tilton features more than 50 brand name outlet stores including Gymboree Outlet, Harry and David, Jockey, J. Crew, Nike Factory Store, Gap Outlet, Kitchen Collection, Van Heusen and many more.  Tanger is conveniently located off I-93 at Exit 20 in the Lakes Region.
